A woman from California visiting friends in Michigan was killed when she caused a car accident. She stopped at an intersection and then proceeded to drive into the path of a pickup truck.

Trooper Gerald Bockhausen of the State Police's Richmond Post said police still are investigating the accident, but determined Middel was at fault.

Bockhausen said the driver of the truck and witnesses both said Middel came to a complete stop at the intersection before accelerating into the path of the truck.

Drivers on Meisner Road have to yield to those on King Road. There is a stop light at the intersection that flashes red for Meisner Road traffic and yellow for motorists on King Road.

The 26-year-old was dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck only sustained minor injuries.
