A car accident killed an 82-year-old man from Long Beach. The man was a resident at a nursing home and was being driven to a doctor's appointment by a nursing home employee. The accident happened on Willow Street near Studebaker Road.

"She asked him a question, and he didn't answer, and she turned around to check on him," Kohnlein said.

Zepeda took her eyes off the road, veered over to the right, drove over a raised cement curb and hit a tree, Kohnlein said.

Zepeda and Harper were both taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.

The police are still investigating the accident and no charges have been filed at this time. If you have any information about the accident please contact the Long Beach Police Department.
