A man believed to be driving under the influence of alcohol hit 24 cars on a Long Beach street before he finally stopped his truck. He also hit and injured two people during the car accident spree. The string of car accidents happened in Belmont Heights in February.

According to a police report, Wecksler told officers he had been drinking while playing poker with some friends but contended a blown tire caused him to lose control of the car. Wecksler also complained that he could not see after the hood of his car popped up.

Wecksler was asked why he didn't stop after the first crash and replied, "I was trying to find a place to park," the report said.

He was charged with drunk driving and hit and run. This is not the first time the man has been charged with a driving violation.
