Two cars were racing on the Long Beach Freeway on Friday evening and ended up causing a fiery accident. A Corvette and another car were illegally racing at speeds up to 120 miles per hour according to witnesses. The two cars crashed into one another and then into another car.

"They were definitely racing -- the Corvette and the other dark car were going head to head and crashed. ... they were going at least 120 miles per hour," Mike West, a witness, told Newsreel Video.

A passenger in a Mustang and a driver in a compact car were also taken to hospitals, a witness said.

The Corvette burst into flames. The accident happened around the Los Angeles River at 10:06 p.m.
