A man driving an SUV hit another man driving a motorcycle and then fled from the scene on Saturday night. The accident happened in Escondido near Metcalf Street and Mission Avenue after 8 p.m.

Witnesses told police that a white GMC Yukon hit Icenogle, then fled north on Metcalf.

Nine minutes later, officers spotted the Yukon in the 1000 block of Rock Springs Road, stopped the car and arrested Garcia, who was driving, Christensen said.

He said a preliminary investigation indicated Icenogle was westbound on Mission Avenue, while Garcia was heading east on the same street and turned left into the path of the motorcycle.

The 51-year-old man driving the motorcycle was killed. The driver of the SUV is being held on a $1 million bail. The Police are still investigating the accident.
