A man driving his motorcyle on the Hollywood Freeway was killed when he was struck by a hit and run driver. The motorcycle accident happened in the late evening on Friday.

The rider was taken to a hospital after the accident and died, officials said.

Witnesses said a vehicle hit a motorcycle, crashed into the center divider, hit another vehicle, then crashed into a light pole as its female driver tried to get off the freeway on the Highland Avenue offramp. She then flagged down a passing motorist and rode off, the witnesses said.

The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident and trying to locate the driver of the car. They closed the exit ramp while they investigated and cleaned up the accident.
